  • Alternate methods of communication for other services are being vetted and may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

Proudly serving West Virginia, our methadone clinics provide adults struggling with addiction the ability to recover from heroin, oxycodone, Percocet, and other opiates.

Our Therapeutic Treatments

Therapeutic Treatments for Opioid Abuse

At West Virginia Comprehensive Treatment Centers, we know that effective comprehensive treatment for opioid addiction must involve more than medication. Methadone, Subutex, Suboxone, and Vivitrol play important roles due to their ability to alleviate cravings and other symptoms of withdrawal, but medications cannot identify the psychological, emotional, and behavioral issues that may have contributed to or sustained a person’s dependence upon opioids in the first place.

To properly prepare our patients to achieve long-term recovery, the medication component of our programs is complemented with a number of therapeutic interventions that are led by experienced professionals who have been specially trained to help individuals who have been struggling with opioid addiction. Our therapeutic services are designed to empower our patients to develop skills to overcome the issues that, if left untreated, would threaten to derail their progress, cause relapse, and undermine their efforts to achieve and maintain a drug-free lifestyle.

The therapeutic support that patients receive at West Virginia Comprehensive Treatment Centers allows them to explore and understand the many ways that opioid addiction has impacted their lives. Our counselors work with each patient to help them use their newfound insights to develop the skills and strategies that will allow them to deal with past turmoil in a healthy manner while they learn how to prevent future harm.

This type of growth is encouraged via two types of therapy:

  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy

Because we are committed to providing customized care that reflects the unique needs of each patient, the level and frequency of a patient’s participation in specific types of therapy will depend upon an ongoing assessment of his or her unique needs.
